During this session we will:
Understand the guiding principles behind harm reduction as an approach to public health and individual treatment for people who use drugs (PWUD).
Appreciate the unique risks of harm to PWUD brought about by the intersection of COVID-19 and the overdose epidemic.
Explore specific clinical strategies for medical providers to help their patients who use drugs reduce risks of harm, including low-threshold treatment, overdose education and naloxone distribution, safer drug use counseling.
