The MWAETC is committed to optimal heath care for all who are impacted by HIV. As an entity and through our partners we work to improve access to quality care by:
- Providing training, technical assistance, resources, and consultation on clinical care related to HIV treatment, diagnosis, prevention and related co-morbidities.
- Providing capacity-building support for developing responsive systems of care and eliminating non-medical barriers to care
- Sharing expertise on key populations disproportionately impacted by HIV Offering programs on overcoming stigma and medical mistrust, being trauma-informed, and creating welcoming environments
- Utilizing Minority AIDS Initiative Resources to build HIV prevention and treatment capacity within organizations with sizeable racial and ethnic minority patient populations
- Building provider capacity in communities with less access to or uptake of effective interventions
- Supporting efforts to build a workforce reflective of those with lived experience with HIV
- Conducting on-going needs assessment to identify areas where providers need support to better serve their patients and clients
