Objectives:
- Understand the association of high-risk HPV infection and the risk of anal cancer.
- Appreciate how anal cytology and high resolution anoscopy (HRA) is performed and how to diagnose high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL).
- Review the findings of the ANCHOR study which showed a 57% decrease in the incidence of anal cancer in people living with HIV by treating HSIL.
- Understand the different screening options for anal HSIL
