Lara Strick, MD, MS Infectious Disease Physician, WA DOC Clinical Associate Professor, UW Corrections Program Director, MW AETC Dr. Strick discussed how to support individuals living with HIV as they transition from incarceration back to the community. The key components of a successful jail/prison release plan were be discussed. Then once released, Dr. Strick discussed ways to improve ongoing medical engagement of a justice-involved population. By the end of the presentation participants were able to: 1. Be familiar with basic definitions used in the correctional system. 2. Identify components of a successful jail/prison release plan for individuals living with HIV. 3. Understand ways to help maintain medical engagement of a justice-involved population.
