This talk will examine the disproportionate rates of HIV infection in transgender people, and the contributing syndemics. Practical information on gender affirming care to lower barriers to care, PrEP information relevant to this group, and information about system resources will also be presented. Objectives: -Identify contributing factors that result in health disparities in transgender populations as relates to HIV. -Implement a gender-affirming approach to patient care. - Tailor HIV prevention techniques to transgender and gender non-binary people.
